Out of Hours
After office hours and at weekends and Bank Holidays, the Out Of Hours Service for emergencies can be contacted by ringing 0845 3458995.

Urgent Appointments
We will see people with urgent appointments the same day and, we keep a proportion of appointments un-booked for this purpose.  If you call and request an urgent appointment, we will arrange for one of our practice nurses to call you back as soon as possible.  It may be possible for the nurse to deal with your complaint over the 'phone, or for you to have appointment with the nurse.  If the nurse cannot deal with your problem, she will book you in to see a GP.

Telephone Advice
If you need telephone advice from your doctor please leave your name and your telephone number and the doctor will return your call as soon as they are able to. 

FLU ALERT
If you are suffering from flu-like symptoms the advice is to stay at home to avoid spreading the virus and contact your GP by telephone.

Patient Group

Are you interested in making a difference?

  • Are you a patient at The Fern Hill Practice?
  • Would you like to play an active role in raising awareness of the views and concerns of other patients and ensuring that these are fed back to the Practice?
  • Would you like to learn more about how the Practice functions and the roles of the individual staff?
  • Would you like to learn more about the proposed changes and improvements to local healthcare?

The Fern Hill Practice is forming a patient group, which will meet on a regular basis. The group will provide a patient perspective, which is of great importance to the running and future of the Practice. Patients from the surgery are invited to apply to join.

The group will be free to identify its own priorities for discussion and liaison with the Practice Team.

The aim is to include patients across all age groups and with a wide range of views and backgrounds.

Our next meeting is scheduled to be held in March 10 (exact date to be confirmed), here at the surgery.
